  • Vehicle Title or ownership documents available for review.

Mobile VIN Verification Requirements in Florida

If the standard VIN plates are missing, damaged, or unreadable—common with older vehicles or certain imports—an engine block VIN must be located. If no valid VIN can be found anywhere on the vehicle, the verification cannot be completed, and the full notary service fee still applies due to time and travel.

Qualified VIN Inspection Notary

A qualified person — such as a Florida notary public, licensed dealer, law enforcement officer, or FLHSMV compliance examiner — must physically inspect the vehicle and confirm that the VIN on the vehicle matches what is written on the form.

Once the form is completed and notarized or signed by the authorized inspector, it is submitted along with the title application for registration.
